Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 25th, from 9:30 - 11:00am, when Chef Janice Claridy offers you the chance to experience the great flavor and warm feeling of a delicious meal with our culinary team.
Chef Janice Claridy has been pleasing the palettes of Broadmoor Court residents for 19 years. Beloved by residents, their families and team members alike, Janice says everyone at the community creates a wonderful family.
When she thinks about how she impacts lives every day, Janice says she thinks about a resident named Debra. “She was a pretty quiet resident, though she did verbalize her likes and dislikes,” Janice says. “Debra really enjoyed the food and attended every meal. She had a very quiet nature about her, and mealtime helped her adjust and make friends. Our dining experience helped her open up with others. It was so good to see her blossom.”
Residents may not know that Janice grew up helping in her parents’ own restaurant. She practically grew up in the kitchen and has grown to love it. Her culinary education is all “hands on training,” which has developed into great instincts about responding to what her customer, now resident, likes.
But of course, a chef never stops learning. “I enjoy what I do here at Broadmoor Court,” she says. “I enjoy the residents and the team.”
