God's word shows you how to overcome weariness with the help of his lessons and examples. No one knows weariness better than God, who humbly put himself on this earth and on the cross for the sake of humanity. Jesus taught that humility and unconditional love could overcome all things, and you can overcome weariness by taking comfort from inspirational verses in the Bible.
Let God Help You Receive Strength
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30
Don't dwell on how tired you feel. Instead, concentrate on ways you can still love and serve God and other people. Maybe it's time to start a Bible study. You can invite guest speakers from churches in and around Fort Collins to inspire your friends and neighbors at Collinwood.
Be a Disciple Even When You're Weary
Jesus gave you a mission when he invited his followers to take up the cross for themselves and others. Meditating on this calling brings peace and certainty when your energy is low. Open your heart to receive the immeasurable joy that washes away weariness when you feel overwhelmed by daily challenges.
Tell God All About It
The book of Matthew promises that you aren't alone, so confess your weariness to the Lord, and He will send you comfort. That comfort doesn’t always come in the form of a change in your circumstances, but might just be a supernatural peace that helps you forge on in the face of weariness.
Ask Jesus for Restoration
"The Lord is my shepherd … He restores my soul." Psalms 23 is just one place that God promises to restore your soul. This is a reminder that Jesus doesn't forget you in your labors, whether that means healing from an illness, doing good works or the presence of that peace that passes all understanding.
As you sit in a quiet corner of your apartment, stay still and let his grace relieve your weariness and restore life and vitality to your body. Far from forgetting you, the Lord waits quietly until you're ready to receive his mercy and joy.
Don't Be Afraid to Ask
"Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full." - John 16.24
As you pray for your family, church and neighbors at Collinwood, don't forget to include yourself. God wants to lighten your burdens and bring you joy. Never doubt His capacity to take care of the needs of all those who love Him and crave His presence in their lives.
"The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary... to him who has no might he increases strength." - Isaiah 40:28-30
Your Work Has a Reward
1 Corinthians 15:28 is just one place God tells you that you are beloved and that your faith and work in His name will be rewarded. This is one of the reasons people of faith can leave low days behind them and look to the horizon with hope and joy. Let the infectious optimism of other Christians wash away your weariness.
"His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful ... I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ "- Matthew 25:23
